The Pitt chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers supports Black engineering students at the University of Pittsburgh through community, mentorship, professional development, and academic excellence.
The objective of the University of Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers shall be to stimulate and develop student interest in engineering; to strive to increase the number of students studying engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and to endeavor in the advancement of the Black engineer in professional industry. Additionally, this organization shall provide service opportunities for its members and engage in providing STEM opportunities for youth and adults in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Our next Member of the Month for the 2026 - 2027 academic year is Morgan Marino, Parliamentarian, from the Administrative Zone of Pitt NSBE! Morgan is a Junior Biological Sciences major with a minor in bioengineering. Morgan has done great work in orchestrating our first Townhall, leading our first ever vote of the year, and more!

The Fall Regional Conference is coming up! Make sure to attend our GBM's this month on the 7th and 21st to prepare!
On October 7, 7PM, we will be hosting a GBM to discuss the Fall Regional Conference which will be hosted in Pittsburgh, November 6 - 8! Expect to learn more about what the Fall Regional Conference is and what to expect, in addition to learning our chants!
October 13, 6PM, Turner Construction Company will be visiting Benedum Hall to talk with students here at Pitt! Taking place during Construction Inclusion Week, Turner Construction will lead students through a career conversation and a hands-on workshop to learn more about the construction industry!
October 21, 7PM, we will be hosting a Professional Development workshop to help prepare students for their future! Expect to learn more about job-hunting tips and tricks including, resume review, interview practice, career fair advice, and more!
Running from 5-9 PM, the NSBE x SHPE Homecoming Mixer will be held on the 6th floor of the William Pitt Union! Come to rest and relax from your busy classes, talk with other members, and connect with Pitt alumni! See you there!
End Zone Summit is this Saturday in Benedum Hall! Expect to learn more about our region, attend exciting professional workshops, hear from interesting guest speakers, and more! It runs from 9-4, so be sure to attend!
